Color Dare combined with Inkspirations

Oh so much fun was had while creating this card. I love the colors from "The Color Dare" and the sketch from Inkspirations was so fun!

This sketch combined with Pear Pizzazz, Elegant Eggplant, Blushing Bride and Soft Suede created...

This card!!I used a retired set called Friendship Blossoms, but it was so pretty I thought it would work great with the sketch. I added a few punches and the Big Shot and in no time I had a great card to send to a friend.

Play along with the sketch or the color combination. I would love to see what you came up with!

A La Monkey Challenge

I cannot believe it has been over a week since I posted something. I have been creating and having a lot of fun in my craft room, just not finding the time to post.

This morning I was inspired by a couple challenges and wanted to share what I came up with. First was the A La Monkey challenge. I loved the simplicity of the sketch and that I could do whatever I wanted for theme and color. Here is my card!

The Fox and Friends stamp set is one of my favorites! I knew I wanted to use it but not sure how! While looking through my DSP I saw this and knew it would look great with the circles for the whale. Using Pacific Point (my new favorite color) and Old Olive, I think the colors worked great and the card is a fun one for a child's birthday!

JAI 70 - Round Sketch

Just Add Ink had a challenge this week I am really excited to participate in. It is a round card. I have had my large circle scallop die for a long time and this was the perfect spot to test it out. I am really pleased with how it turned out. I also love the color combination. Pink and brown look great together!

Here is my round card...
I added a brad to spin the top around to see the inside. I did this because I wanted to try something different then lifting up and down. It was a fun change.
I used the Simply Said stamp set from Stampin Up. Sadly I believe it is being discountinued, but I will keep the set and continue to use it!

PPA96 Color Challenge

I have followed Mary Fish for a long time. She has amazing ideas, inspiration and helpful hints. Each week she does a color challenge and I decided to play along.

This week the challenge is to use More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy. However as an added twist it needed to be a masculine card. Male cards are not the easiest for me. I like cute, flowery, soft, etc. But I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and participate. This is what I came up with...
I started with the Coast to Coast stamp set and sponged the blue and more mustard. Then I used blender pens and the cherry cobbler to color in the lighthouse.

After finishing the coloring and sponging, I really did not like the straight edges so I tore them to increase the texture of the card.

Finally I layered the colors onto a sponged piece of white cardstock, added a sentiment and that's it. Simple, but I think it is effective in colors and masculinity.

SPCC #102 - Yep Another Challenge

Ok...I am loving the crafty spark I am having while exploring the blog world. After the kids went to bed, I headed up to my stamp room to create another card.

Here is the color challenge...Isn't that a beautiful combination!!This is the card I made.
I began with the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set (retired from Stampin Up). Once I had the flowers made I wanted to add some kind of layering. I do not have the river rock stamp pad or pen so I could only incorporate the color with paper...thus layering.

The layered scallop punch was to create some dimension to the layering. I love the color combination and plan to make a few more of these to have on hand.

Head over to Scrappers Paradise Color Combinations to play along.

Color Dare Challenge

While blog surfing I discovered The Color Dare and I loved the color combination for the challenge. I am so excited to be participating in a second challenge!!

As soon as I saw Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise, Pear Pizzazz and Vanilla I thought of my Build A Bear Dies. I got them a while ago and have been really excited to use them. This was the perfect opportunity!
I started with the chocolate chip to make the bear, then did the skirt, jacket and purse with the tempting turquoise. The purse and flower were from the berry girl add on. Vanilla shirt and it was a complete outfit. (I would love some suggestions or input on her eyes. I did not like making them lighter, but I feel like they are hidden in her face. Suggestions?)

I tried to use the Pear Pizzazz for her shoes and purse, but just did not like the combination so I went for a flower. I love the bird punch with the leaves. I use it all the time. After adding a rhinestone and a little hello, the card was close to being done.

One I put it all together on the vanilla background it seemed very stark so I grabbed my Big Shot once again to add some subtle texture. Overall I really like how it turned out.

If you like the color combination and want to play along head over to The Color Dare and enter! Can't wait to see what you have come up with!
